Sep 23, 2016 · It also retains more energy downrange than the .308 does past 500 yards. I shoot a custom Remington 700 in 6.5 Creedmoor for PRS-type events and I absolutely love it for that purpose. The rifle is extremely accurate and easy to shoot accurately. An M14 in 6.5 would be fun and would give you the Creedmoor's ballistic advantages over the .308.

While both rifles were sub-MOA at 100 yards, at 1200 yards, I would be comfortable saying that the 6.5 Creedmoor was consistently 1.5MOA while The class runs $1000 for three full days of training (both shooting days we were in the backcountry for just about 10 hours). There are three levels of...

Sep 21, 2018 · The Federal 130-Grain Berger HB gave the best performance, printing this sub-half-MOA group. Wilson Combat rifles are always accurate. In close to ten years of testing, they are all 1 MOA or less at 300 yards, and many have held that degree of precision out to 800+ yards. Each was reliable, lightweight and built with attention to detail.

Going longer than that, go with whatever shoots best for you at 800 yards. For me, that’s the 142 ABLR. I’ve only killed elk with it, but dramatic bang/flop was the order of the day. I also get great groups from the 140 ELD-M, 140 SST, 143 ELD-X, 147 ELD-M and 153 A-Tip. All go sub-MOA in my 6.5 Creedmoor.

Jul 12, 2017 · The 6.5 Creedmoor impacts a target with an energy of ≈1215 ft. lbs at 500 yards. Comparing that to the M118LR which connects with 1225 ft lbs., I’d have to say that’s not bad at all. Also note the fact that the ft. lbs of energy at 1000 yards is just shy of 50 ft. lbs when compared to the .308.

Sep 14, 2020 · As far as 6.5 Creedmoor AR-10 rifles are concerned, there are few that come close to what Smith & Wesson offers for the price. In its second generation, the M&P 6.5 Creedmoor Rifle is a jack-of-all-trades – as adept on a hunt as it is in a match. Best of all, the Performance Center creation doesn’t skimp.
Couple years ago at a 1000 yard shoot, I watched a guy sight in his new RPR in 6.5 CM @ 100 yards with factory Hornady ammo, then proceed to make hits out to 1000 yards in no time. His rifle wasn't as accurate as my 6.5x47 Lapua, but if you can hit milk jugs at 1000 yards, it don't really matter.
The 6.5 Creedmoor has rapidly established itself as an industry standard for long-range cartridges. The only downside to the Creedmoor is shorter barrel life, but it still has a several thousand round barrel life when driven hard out of a match rifle, meaning even longer for the casual shooter or hunter.
Sub MOA plate 500 yards - 6.5 Creedmoor .300 Win Mag .260 Rem .308 Win 30-06. Coats Brothers Firearms. Переглядів 373 тис.11 місяців тому. You too can hit 1000 yards with a budget of less than $1000. No, the suppressor and Atlas bipod are not necessary.
The Creedmoor was designed to be a target round, that has been used as a hunting round. IMO, that's fine, as long as people remember that hitting a target at 800-1000 yards is different than actually killing an animal at those distances.

I am trying to understand the whole zero MOA or 20 MOA riflescope mount choice. I have a new rifle in 6.5 creedmoor that comes with a zero MOA picatinny rail mount and a Nightforce precision But I am not even close to zero at 100 yards and it seems to me I should be near zero at say 300 yards...
The chart below compares how much a 10 mile per hour crosswind impacts those same loads for each cartridge out to 500 yards. At 500 yards, there’s just 1.8″ separating them. At 1,000 yards, the 6.5 Creedmoor has about 9″ (~15%) more wind drift than the 6.5 PRC. That’s not nothing, but it’s not a gigantic difference either.
